Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Two weeks ago, I went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom with my oldest sister, brother-in-law, his sister, and Baby Seabass.

All of our time there was spent on watching the snimal shows, so we didn’t get to go onto any of the rides.

The first show we saw was the killer whale. The whale wasn’t very big since it was a just a baby, 2 years old.

We were a bit early for the whale show, but I got to snap this cool photo during the wait

The baby Orca was so cute!

Next, were a tiger show. It was pretty entertaining, but I wish we didn’t have to watch the tigers through a fence. (I know, the fence is for safety, but still...)

Ater that, we took a break for lunch.

We bought a smoked turkey leg to share. The turkey leg was huge! Too bad it’s hard to show in picture.

I think it’s a pretty good deal. $10 for one leg, which can feed 4 adults. We snuck in some mashed potatoes to go with the turkey leg (笑)

After lunch, we walked inside the butterfly habitat. I was actually expecting there to be more butterflies inside, but the ones that were there were very pretty. It was just hard to snap photos of them since they flew so quickly.

Then, we took a short walk around the zoo while waiting for the elephant show.

Spent some time watching giraffes

I think the elephant was so cute. It was my first time seeing one so up close too!

Lastly, we saw the dolphin show.

By the end, I was pretty tired since it was a hot day. The walk through the parking lot to the car also tired me out having to push a packed baby stroller uphill. All in all, it was a fun day to relax. I enjoyed being able to see all of the animals!

Short Summer Photoset

From one of the times I went with my sis to take a photo session around her uni.

These are actually old pics from last year, but I never got around to posting them anywhere.

Since it’s summer now, and my outfit is summer themed, it’s still appropiate, right?

act cute *shy* *shy* expression

I super love this photo, but I always have wonky feet

Most natural photo. The sun was super strong that day, see my squint?

Well, that’s all. Super short post today.

Really just wanted to find an excuse to post some pictures of myself, lol.

Other News & Happenings

I decided to break my previous post into a 2nd part.

Right now, I’ve been staying at my oldest sister’s place in-between work days. I’ve mainly just been lazying around.

Sometimes, I watch baby Seabass, but mostly just play games, watch TV, or go on internet.

My sis and I went to Ulta during the first week I stayed over because I wanted to get some more of the CoverGirl Blast Flipsticks. The one I bought from Target was in the wrong shade of the one I wanted (there weren’t any testers out). Ulta had a 2 for $15 sale on the lipsticks plus I used a $3.50 off coupon, so it was cheaper.

I also bought a Sally Hassen Crackle nail polish since it was on clearance for under $2. Most of the crackle polishes I see around are priced at $8+! I consider this to be a steal, plus the color is gold & easy to match, so I wanted to give it a try.

I’ve never used any crackle/shatter polishes before since they’re so expensive. It was a little hard to apply at first since you’re only supposed to apply one layer and not go over. In my first attempt, my right hand turned out nicer. Usually it’s the other way around, since I’m right handed...

It took a while for the polish to complete cracking, but I like the end result.

Here’s how the nail polish looks! (2nd attempt)

In other news, I’m looking forward to the upcoming Fall season’s anime. The line up looks pretty good so far, but the show I’m anticipating the most is 「K」.

Not much info is out about it yet, but looking at the trailers, the art is pretty nice and appears to have some good action.

Until next time,

Recent News & Happenings

I was stressing at the end of Spring quarter, but it actually ended well. I’m glad it’s done, and now it’s summer.

I’ve actually been somewhat busy during this summer break. Hooray.

Although... I haven’t been exactly busy with fun stuff, but with other things.

I mentioned in my shoes wishlist post that I wanted to find a job for the summer, and luckily everything fell perfectly for me!

I was lucky to have applied right when a new retail store was opening!

I applied a week or two near the end pf spring quarter, interviewed three weeks after, got the job, just finished training, and am heading to my 1st official work week.31

Friends and others have told me horrors of retail, but so far I’ve been enjoying the work. I haven’t had any problems with customers or anything so far... I’m still just nervous about working the cash register.

This is my first ever experience working on a cash register. During training, I’ve only been on the register twice, and both times I made counting errors...47 I got really stressed & worried over the second mistake particularly because it was my second time as cashier already.

I think I’m sort of pressuring my self to go quickly (particulary when I see a line forming), which is causing me to make mistakes.

So, NO! Don’t rush! Take my time! Count carefully! 58 (memos to remind myself)

In between that, I had one day to relax. My little cousins came over for a pool day. We spent most of the afternoon swimming and playing at the water park.

Afterwards, we went to Chuck E Cheese! I invited my friend from highschool to hang out this day. It was nice to finally be able to meet and catch up again.

At Chuck E Cheese, we finally redeemed all of our super old tickets we had saved up from since 199415

Over a 1000 tickets! W00t!

One thousand tickets is a lot, right? So that means good prizes, right? WRONG.:14:

All of the ’decent’ prizes were priced at 2000+ tickets! Everything below that amount are just stuff you can buy yourself for like $5.There was an Easy Bake cake set for 800 tickets, but my sister was against getting it since it was just fondant.

We ended up just getting 3 tiaras, 100 tix each, and then letting the kids choose whatever they wanted with the rest.

My sis, friend, and I left early to do a little shopping. I wore my tiara out with pride! I tried getting my sister to wear it too, but she’s too embarrassed to do that stuff.

We just browsed around Ulta and Target. I bought a nudey pink lip liner and lipstick at Ulta and then a CoverGirl Blast Flipstick at Target.

My friend showed us the ultra cheap E.L.F. brushes and compact sets at Target. Amazing discovery! Single brushes are only $1-3 each!

After check out in Target, heard the best line ever! The store clerk noticed my tiara and complimented me. The greatest thing she said was, ”Princess for the day, or princess everyday?” LOL emoticon20 I’m a princess everyday, ya know?

Late during the evening, when my cousins were in their car getting ready to leave, a little doggy came over! It actually hopped into the car, and scared my aunt. My uncle told my mom to pick it up so that it won’t get run over while they backed out of the drive way.

We brought the dog into the house. My sister called the owner from the collar.

The doggy, Dixie, was so adorable! She was a hotdog (Dachshund)!:92:

Turns out the wife (most likely the sole owner, since the collar gave her contact info) was away, and the husband was supposed to watch the Dixie. We had to wait a whole hour before the husband called us back to pick her up. It was near 11:00 pm already! We met up at the park since it was halfway distance between our houses.

After returning Dixie, worst line of the day said by the husband, ”I should tape a hundred to the collar so next time people would keep her.”

Shoot. I would’ve loved to keep her! She’s obviously not his dog though, so no go.

Despite the not-so-pleasant ending line, that day was nice, relaxing, and fun. I was super glad my friend was able to meet up! There was no awkwardness in conversation or anything even though it’s been a while since we’ve last seen each other. That’s true friendship!

I wish there were more days I could take to hang out with old friends again, but we’re always busy. It’s also a little awkward to make that initial request to meet up after not having seen each other in a long time. haha

Well, this post ended up being a lot longer than I had planned, but oh, well.

See ya next time,

Goodbye First Job

Well, I’m now officially jobless.

The summer semester official ends next week, but I was told by a little white note that yesterday was going to be my last day tutoring at school. It was easy money, but kinda sucks since I was basically cut-off from another week’s pay... it would’ve been an extra $100+ in my next check.

There really were no students coming in for tutoring though. I was pratically getting paid to sit there. I’m just a little bitter since it is only one week left (which I only work 4 days, 16 hours, of), and they didn’t seem to really cut anyone else besides me and another girl. Everyone else apparently gets to stay... everyone who pretty much likes chatting up the tutoring center staff.

So... I’m just wondering if they decided to cut me just because I’m not a suck up like the other workers. Well, sorry for not trying to make convo with you, dear employers, but it’s not like anyone ever tried to initiate conversation with me either! Everytime I was by my lonesome self at my table being foreverlonely, did anyone ever come approach me? Nope. Never. So, why so I be the one to take initiative to talk to anyone myself? Besides... what’s there to really even talk about? Life is boring.

Don’t think you’re any better because you get a desk and computer. What do you even do at ’work’ anyway? Check out your Facebook? Twitter? Read articles online? From what I saw, only one out of the three staff actually work, the one who does payroll. Truthfully, I don’t really see any reason to have the other two around. Maybe one for the front desk? But they have the student workers doing that for them.Oh well, maybe it’s just a lesson to learn. Be a kiss up to future employers/staff and talk to them even if it’s boring and an extra task.

Besides that, what really irked me was the note. I was informed about my final day by a single note put into my work folder. Sure, it was obviously written to try not to irritate me, well #FAIL. The words just do not really read sincerely to me. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me? The excuse was due to lack of students coming in and budgeting issues. If that’s so, then why not just cut everybody’s hours short or close the damn place? But whatever. Well, I can see how it’s better than telling me upfront in my face that I’m no longer needed, but the note was just... I don’t know. It was just a little irritating, that is all I can really say about it.

One last thing... what was a little suspicious was that the day before, after work, a co-worker asked if I thought they would really keep everyone until the end. Hmmm? Was it really just coincidence? I mean, really? Ah, I should’ve kept my thoughts hidden, but I answered truthfully. Too truthfully. I said that I felt it was a ”waste of money, but I’m not complaining.” *facepalm* Given the time of the question, and the lay-off, I’m pretty sure co-worker had an idea of what was going on... This just leads to questions. Was I back-stabbed or just overheard? Answers unknown. Mysterious, mysterious.

Well, plus side is that I get a complete full month of break.
I’m free~

/End angry rant, lol
